# Mod Guide

**When you are in the trial phase you should not be doing any moderation until you have been given the okay to do so.**

**You will be invited to join a session of training with one of the upper staff members before being released to train with other staff. Until then please only observe tickets and moderation.**

### Training

The training session with an upper will take a few hours and will cover all of the below sections. You will be evaluated on each section separately and will be approved to do each one separately.

When this is completed you will be expected to host events on your own.

When this is completed you will be allowed to moderate the discord without supervision.

When this is completed you will be watched over all for your activity and ability to be promoted to full fledged moderator. 

### Leave of Absence (LOA)

We have this role for when you know you’ll be inactive for over a week; you can request to be put on LOA and optionally put when you will be returning.

If you are put onto LOA for lack of activity by an upper staff it is generally because we are not seeing you host events, do tickets, or other staff activities that we are looking for. When this happens you will need to be active for a reasonable amount of time before requesting it to be removed.

There is no time limit to being on LOA, however if you are LOA more often than not for 30+ days with NO communication, you may be removed from the staff team.

**As a moderator you are expected to host ONE event every 30 days.**
